So I have now completed 21 days of diet and exercise following the 21 Day Fix program. The third week I tried Shakeology (thanks to a friend) and added another exercise routine 2 days of the week. Read on to see my 21 Day Fix final results!

How did the third week go?
I sailed through the third week meal plan without any issues. I tried two new recipes that bombed, and I deleted them from my “cookbook.” I completed all exercise programs with increased weights or longer time at the harder position (i.e. full plank vs knee plank).
What Foods Did I Eat?
Shakeology, To buy or not to buy is my question. All the reviews I read said that there is nothing to replace the wonderful and complete nutrients of this magic powder, and it is one of the added “Zings” of the 21 Day Fix. I have been skeptical about purchasing mainly because a months supply is $120!! I have spoken with friends that are coaches or are doing the 21 Day Fix and they all swear by the increased muscle definition and decreased cravings. But I am just not convinced. Lucky for me, a friend bought the wrong flavor of Shakeology, and so I have been able to trial the Strawberry at no cost. I have tried two Shakeology recipes from the Beach Body Blog, and I like the taste of the Shakeology, but haven’t found that I have less cravings or that I feel more full. I didn’t expect to notice a significant increase in muscle definition after only 2 drinks. My other concern is that some have said when they stopped using Shakeology they noticed a sudden decrease in muscle definition. So, I am still up in the air. I would like to use Shakeology because it tastes better than the Whey protein powder I am currently using, but I am not convinced that the results or taste is 4 times better. (Current protein powder costs $30/month.)
I tried to make a dessert from protein powder (Dessert cups) and it was so disgusting that I couldn’t take more than 2 bites. So, I am on a mission to find a 21 Day Fix approved dessert. I also tried to make oat pancakes as a treat one morning. Again, a flop!
One mistake I was making is eating too much, even using the containers. I was eating too much oatmeal (yellow) by measuring out 1/2 cup before cooking. To eat the correct 1/2 cup cooked you need to cook 1/3 cup. Also I was eating too many almonds and asparagus spears. The book separates some food out and says to count as a specific color, yet identifies a number to eat instead of using the measuring containers. So be careful!
21 Day Fix Exercise Videos
I added the 10 minute fix for abs two days this week. It is amazing how sore you can be after 10 minutes! 🙂 As I noted earlier, I increased my weights or performed the harder position for longer periods in each exercise program. Also, I can tell that my abs are getting stronger…I can feel them again. That’s the first time since before kids. 🙂
21 Day Fix Final Results – The Measurements
I haven’t noticed an extreme change from last week to this week, but I can tell overall that I am losing my love handles and extra fat on my stomach. Overall I have lost 5 pounds and 7.25 inches total! The biggest change was around my navel – I lost 3 inches total around my waist!
My husband Derek lost a total of 6.2 pounds and 2 inches around his waist!

21 Day Fix Final Results – What’s Next?
So, you’ve seen our 21 Day Fix final results and watched the video. What’s next? We are going at it again! Autumn says :”If you’re tired of starting over, stop giving up.” So, we am going to try for another 21 days and see how much more we can achieve. I may try to eat all purple (fruit) and yellow (carbs) before 6pm as suggested in the book to increase fat burning. I say may because my family schedule sometimes prevents us from eating before 6pm. I am also going to stick with adding the extra ab program 2 days and try to double the yoga or pilates day with the plyo fix. (I haven’t tried this one yet!) Autumn raves about the benefits from coconut oil, and so I purchased some this weekend to try in my cooking next week.
My birthday will be during this 21 days, so it will be difficult to limit my cake consumption 🙂 . Also, I found a recipe for a 21 Day Fix approved pumpkin spice latte that counts as 1 yellow. I can’t wait to try this one!
